At nineteen and at sixty (2011)
I was a freelance photographer in the music industry between 1968 and 1974, continuing to a lesser degree until about 1989, after which I concentrated on running our process and printing operation. My main photography clients were Record Mirror, EMI Records, Pye Records, RCA Records, the BBC, Radio Luxembourg and various magazines, PR and management companies.
I have lived with photography my entire life, my father being the late Doug McKenzie, renowned showbusiness photographer. I have included a very small selection of his shots on their own page in the menu.
On the 'Music Photography' page are some of my photographs, with names and dates. There is also a page with a list of these images in chronological order with names, dates and sometimes a little more info. I was honoured to be made a member of the showbusiness charity The Grand Order of Water Rats in 2014 and was awarded Rat of the Year in 2016.
